As a(n) Application Development Manager you will: 

Provides strategic and tactical leadership and works in collaboration with the senior IT management team to deliver an integrated information technology vision for Dev Ops. Manages and supports all aspects of the maintenance, development, enhancement, interfacing and expansion of the company’s application systems. Manages and directs application development for assigned applications to improves business processes and support critical business strategies. Leads multiple projects and supervises a staff of analysts, programmers, and database support involved in the development of new or maintenance of existing information technology systems. Supervise the various phases of applications systems analysis, development, coordination, implementation, and documentation ensuring that user applications and sub-system activities are compatible with total system objectives. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Tasks include reconciliation of conflicts within and between staff regarding resources, deadlines, and standards; and the resolution of the most difficult computer and applications related problems. Work is performed and administrative and technical decisions are made with considerable independence. Ensures that appropriate controls exist, that processing is efficient and accurate, and that information systems procedures comply with company defined standards.


Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Supervises professional, paraprofessional, and technical personnel involved in the development of new applications and/or maintenance and operation of existing information technology systems both internal and external resources;
  • Supervises multiple business and/or computer applications through development and support phases;
  • Initiates or participates in systems analysis studies; provides architecture level support;
  • Evaluates overall and individual work performance to determine effectiveness in providing quality products within time and cost restraints;
  • Prepares or reviews written and oral reports of proposed information technology systems;
  • Directs applications systems planning and budgeting, and acquisition and acceptance of new equipment for the department;
  • Project management and organization including monitoring time and dollar expenditures to ensure project budgets meet established targets;
  • Reviews computer programming techniques and computer usage to ensure efficient and effective procedures are utilized;
  • Develops analysis and programming guidelines and documentation standards;
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for needed training;
  • Reviews the designs of computer applications to ensure that all requirements are satisfied;
  • Reconciles conflicts within and between staff regarding resources, deadlines, and standards;
  • Resolves the most difficult computer applications related problems;
  • Writes periodic progress, project status and problems resolution reports regarding information technology for management review;
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Supports all areas of audit compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education, Experience and Certification

  • At least seven (7) years professional experience in a software development environment.
  • Three (3) years of responsible experience in applications analysis, design and implementations involving multiple computer subsystems, including project leader responsibilities.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
