Career Readiness Trainer Responsibilities

Career Readiness is a training designed to help people understand and deliver what employers are really looking for in today’s job market through Uplift! Training.Uplift! Is the intensive workplace readiness essential skills training developed by PacMtn aimed at meeting the specific needs of youth in its five-county region. It uses the national accredited and employer endorsed program Workplace Excellence (WPE) Series as a basis and builds exercises and activities specific to vulnerable and high employment barrier populations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the training of Facilitators to increase the number and availability of individuals who can provide the training throughout the region.
  • Develop and lead “train the trainer” model—training potential facilitators or less experienced facilitators, on the best ways to deliver the WPE/Uplift! Curriculum.
  • Schedule and organize all aspects of 10 (30-40 hour) Uplift Training Classes, co-facilitating when necessary within our 5 county region.
  • Schedule and organize 5 (2 hour) Financial Literacy courses within our 5 county regions.
  • Manage any curriculum modification needs.
  • Develop partnerships within the region to identify low cost and free classroom training spaces for Uplift! Training Classes.
  • Develop and update marketing materials and handle marketing campaign to include development of web page content
  • Identify opportunities within the community to offer “Fee for Service” Uplift! Classes and “Train the Trainer” opportunities to expand the reach of Uplift!
  • Create an electronic system of storing Uplift! materials providing access to system partners.

Specific Requirements

  • Experience with the provision of training with specific capability to work with vulnerable and high barrier to employment groups
  • Willingness to train the selected individual in the programs and standards established by Uplift and Workplace Excellence
  • Familiarity with the workforce needs of employers
  • Ability to engage learners of all types.
  • Capability to manage and organize activities.
  • Awareness of the challenges faced by populations with high barriers to employment.
  • Experience working with PacMtn community-based organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work with and relate to participants and be culturally sensitive.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be computer literate and have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
  • Bilingual a plus.
