About this Line of Business

The Wellness, Comprehensive Assessment, Rehabilitation and Employment (WeCARE) Program provides a continuum of integrated services that evaluate the abilities and address the needs of Cash Assistance (CA) clients with medical and/or mental health condition(s) that may affect their employability. Clinical assessment processes determine clients’ functional capacity outcomes and ability to achieve the goals of wellness and employment or to apply for and receive federal disability benefits.

The WeCARE program has been successful in assisting thousands of New York City clients with clinical barriers achieve self-sufficiency. ResCare Workforce Services is a funded provider for WeCARE services through the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA).

As a(n) Child Care Supervisor you will: 

  • Supervises onsite child care workers; provides direction, monitors and evaluates performance
  • Is responsible for the smooth daily operation of the children’s area in the WeCARE center
  • Ensures the children’s area is safe and secure at all times, well-furnished and maintained for children’s activities
  • Provides training for children’s area staff to ensure they understand basic child development principles
  • Interacts with children and parents to ensure children are only onsite when parents are in the facility for services 
  • Establishes and maintains procedures for parental sign in and out of children to the center to ensure child safety and that there is no access to children by unauthorized individuals
  • Ensures that all procedures are followed at all times; conducts direct observation and monitoring, implements improvement procedures
  • Prepares management reports as needed
  • Documents any incidents related to the children’s area; prepares reports and notifies management of needed actions
  • Coordinates with care managers if there are any issues with parent use of the children’s area

Position Requirements

  • Associates Degree or higher in early childhood development, early childhood education, or another child-related area; or CDA credential 
  • 5 years’ experience caring for children
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing child safety procedures
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred

Position(s) available in Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
