Child Care Texas Rising Star Assessor Responsibilities

Reports to:

Project Director

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Completes and files documentation regarding child care providers as outline in provider agreements
  • Provides technical assistance to providers as required and/or requested
  • Ensures files are complete with at least 95% accuracy rate and ensures that all provider files are complete within one week of receiving applications
  • Ensures that updates to files are completed within two business days of changes
  • Completes monthly self/peer audit to review files and ensure accuracy
  • Conducts assessments when due for renewal 100% of the time
  • Conducts assessments as needed
  • Conducts walk-throughs for facilities that are beginning the assessment process
  • Conducts assessments for the children with disabilities to determine whether child care provider is eligible for enhance reimbursement rates
  • Maintains accurate records of weekly and monthly activities
  • Ensures that the provider database is updated each week
  • Prepares reports for weekly activities to include progress towards achieving monthly goals and objectives
  • Handles other duties as assigned

Specific Requirements

Education/Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Bachelor’s Degree from accrediteduniversity or college with major work in child development, special education, child psychology, early childhood education, or home economics (with an emphasis in child development), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills. Must be knowledgeable about community resource and able to work with and relate to participants. Culturally sensitivity a must. Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to work across all levels of management and staff. Must be computer literate and have Microsoft Word and Excel skills at a minimum with the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems. Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.
