As a(n) Cloud Architect you will: 

A career in BrightSpring Health’s Infrastructure Services department, with a focus on Cloud Architecture will provide you with the opportunity to focus on technologies such as Google, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, and other cloud based platforms that bring new and innovative services to our organization. This position will help the company adopt the cloud to transform Information Technology, scale and streamline operations. This role will manage the overall life cycle of cloud services. You’ll be at the forefront of helping our organization adopt innovative technology solutions that optimize business processes or enable scalable technology. The role will work cross functionally within our department to transform the network architecture and infrastructure to fundamentally change the role of Information Technology from a custodial asset to an orchestrator of business services. As part of the team, you’ll focus on the roadmap architecture of data center, including the design and implementation of cloud network, compute, and storage architecture. You will manage the vendor performance and service levels of various cloud offerings such as SAAS, PAAS, and IAAS architectures – working toward a centralized dashboard reporting model.

Responsibilities

As a Cloud Architect, you’ll work in conjunction with IT leaders, technical leads, and other functional business leads to help solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop strategic plans for cloud-based solutions, including but not limited to: transition strategies, bundling (multiple cloud offerings) strategies, risk assessment, and roadmap planning.
  • Designs, oversees, and monitors the deployment execution and ongoing tracking of cloud-based solutions. This includes both migration plans and execution of on-premise services as well as management of apps and services already in the cloud.
  • Proactively assist in the management of BrightSpring Health’s application portfolio of cloud-based services, while reporting to Senior Director and above on cloud performance, capacity, and service level agreement compliance.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to investigate and communicate the impact of architecture and design choices on non-functional attributes like scalability, performance, availability and security. Identifies gaps, strategic impacts, financial impacts and the risk profile in the technical solution or offering, and provides consulting level technical support.
  • Troubleshoots complex technical issues for cloud-based solutions. Identifies and mitigates risks on projects.
  • Assists in contract negotiation for cloud-based solutions. Owns cloud vendor relationship management, tracking, troubleshooting and reporting for cloud-based solutions. Tracks and monitors data necessary to ensure compliance to negotiated contracts on an ongoing basis and provides ad hoc reporting as required. Provides and presents analyses such as contract terms, dollar spend, process compliance.
  • Evaluates new technological developments and evolving business requirements that impact cloud-based strategies.
  • Provides technical project leadership and assembles teams as needed for support of cloud-based initiatives (i. e. Database, Infrastructure, Development, Data Security).
  • Train and knowledge share leaders, peers, and staff on emerging cloud technologies

Position Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field. In lieu of the bachelor’s degree, an Associate's degree in a Computer Science or technology-related field combined with four years of additional related experience may be considered. In lieu of an Associates degree, 7 years of technology-related field experienced may be considered.

Experience:

  • 4+ years leveraging extensive knowledge of the following areas: Enterprise Architecture, Integration Strategy and Roadmap, Vendor Selection, and Systems Architecture;
  • 2+ years delivering cloud based application architectures and development, integration, distributed data management, and application testing;
  • Understanding of hardware virtualization (servers, storage, and networks), internet security architectures (including application and integration), protocols and standards;
  • Conceptualizing, presenting and executing ideas within a tight schedule, with particular emphases on serving as a technical lead on development projects with on-shore and off-shore components, or a team lead or architect across multiple IT projects;
  • Building on existing investments in virtualization, service oriented architecture, and web solutions, while leveraging mature concepts, architectures, and technologies;
  • Collaborating with other technical and non-technical team members, clients, and vendors in technology neutral language to define, build, and deliver solutions;
  • Progressing in professional IT roles of increasing responsibility; and
  • Understanding of SAAS, IAAS, PAAS cloud operating models

Desired experience

  • Backend languages such as Java, C, C++;
  • Server side scripting language such as PHP, Python, Ruby, Powershell ;
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle
