Director, Market Development Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing effective sales and marketing strategies to grow new business.
  • Leading sales strategy discussions with the leadership team with fully developed and polished communication and writing skills.
  • Identifying a client’s pain points through active listening and solution/consultative selling.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and partner to clients.
  • Serve in a supervisory role supporting the Area Sales Managers.
  • Establishing and developing high-level relationships with key decision makers with prospects and existing clients.
  • Managing multiple sales opportunities simultaneously and demonstrating a focus on follow-up and accountability.
  • Maintaining relationships with clients by providing support, information and guidance, and researching and recommending service solutions.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Market Development, prepare a goal directed development plan for the purpose of educating the general public about the company.
  • Learns and executes the company's consultative selling strategy to build sustainable relationships with targeted referral customers
  • Maintains current data on market area, competitors, and marketing strategies
  • Maintains an organized approach to territory management
  • Participates in strategic planning and the analysis for their assigned territory in conjunction with the business plan
  • Coordinates with Executive Directors’ in planning in-services, presentations, and in addressing issues with referral sources
  • Initiates and coordinates contract negotiations with agencies, funding sources, facilities, insurance companies, and managed care organizations.
  • Participates in community and organizational programs as requested to promote professional growth.
  • Participates in the quality and performance improvement process of all programs.
  • Supports and promotes company philosophy to referral sources in the community.
  • Promotes an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all patients in a safe, secure environment.
  • Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs.
  • Promotes positive public relations with patients, family members and guests.
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
  • Supports national organic growth, both in revenue and persons served, and identifies start up opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Requirements

Education, Experience, and Certification

  • Experience in building new and existing business using consultative skills and value proposition methodology.
  • A deep and broad professional network that aligns to our target client base preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record in building new book of business, client relationship management, and evidence of closing and growing accounts preferred.
  • Proven sales performance with a record of achievement and exceeding growth expectations preferred.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the client organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • An expert in planning, risk management and change management
  • Experience in building sales teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence professionals of senior management level.
  • Solid sense of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to design and apply change management and organizational development strategies and influences and assists organizational change initiatives in support of business strategies.
  • Ability to work with remote teams with units in multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Substantial business acumen in fast moving environment.
  • Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy.
