Health Services Director Responsibilities

Responsible for the over-site of health related training and ensuring quality health supports are being provided for assigned service sites.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Nursing Systems and Services in assigned area including, maintain reporting procedures system; Maintain RN intervention system; Conduct RN Orientation as needed; Monitor pharmacy non-medicaid, medical, and Medicaid expenses and assure appropriate and efficient use; Serve as a nursing/medical resource in the development of new programs as needed.
  • Provide oversight of nursing and healthcare services provided, and assure safe and effective nursing care/follow-up to individuals served including, serve as a resource for consumers and nursing staff; Conduct Clinical Reviews and serve on Treatment Teams, as requested by Supervisor.
  • Supervise nursing star in assigned region/area including, hire, train, and evaluate personnel as needed; Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment plans for medical personnel and monitor effectiveness.
  • Oversee employee training and programs, in assigned region/area, to assure adequate and effective training and follow-up with regard to health care and services including, serve as a medical resource for employees; Provide in-service as needed, and at the request of Supervisor; Monitor employee safety programs and plans, including but not limited to safety compliance programs and staff training programs for health and safety in the workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Requirements

  • Must have five years of nursing experience with at least two years providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, or related disorders; familiarity with ICF/MR, Community, HCS, and CLASS Waiver standards preferable.
  • Must have related nursing management /supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Education:

  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing and be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
