Licensed Social Worker-Omaha Responsibilities

Reports to: Project Director

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the case file ensuring all case note entries are completed in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Provides assistance to program staff regarding employment, community service placements and training opportunities. 
  • Provides employment counseling and workshop activities to all job seekers, as needed. Manages a caseload of families and provides counseling and mentoring. 
  • Responsible for all documentation, as required by federal, state and local policy. 
  • Provides classroom/workshop training activities. 
  • Assists job seekers with employment skills building and training. 
  • Provides information on cases in case management meetings. 
  • Conducts follow-up employment calls as needed. 
  • Assists in the coordination of services with contractors and partners. 
  • Provides assistance in job search leads and retention tracking and information. 
  • Completes all program, local, state and federal paperwork requirements. 
  • Seeks out additional training, community service and employment opportunities. 
  • Meets all deadlines put forth by management as well as identified by federal, state and local policy. 
  • Responsible for paper and electronic file maintenance. 
  • Provides information to job seekers on available training and/or jobs that will lead to advancement. 

Specific Requirements

  •  Must possess Tennessee Licensed Social Worker credentials and a post-baccalaureate degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Psychology.
  • Minimum of one year of case management, file management, resource development, and referral experience.
  • Job placement experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of community and state level social services and programs.
  • Track record of effective and professional family crisis management.
  • Strong personal coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate client/professional boundaries.
  • Understanding of personal budgeting and ability to provide financial literacy assistance.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, manage time, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Background in social work is strongly preferred.

This position will be based in Nebraska; the licensing credentials will need to be applicable for Nebraska.
