Program Director Responsibilities
  • Designs, implements and coordinates outcome treatment plans and programming for each participant
  • Ensures that participant and/or guardian is involved in treatment planning and decision making and acts as liaison with participants’ families and other involved agencies
  • Maintains accessibility and availability to participants, team members, families, and other involved parties
  • Collaborates with the operational/clinical members of the program
  • Handles emergencies such as elopements, critical incidents, and medical situations
  • Ensures that discharge planning is an ongoing process and that adequate notice of discharge is provided to participant, families, and other involved parties
  • Coordinates program evaluation and improvement activities, including ensuring satisfaction and follow up information is gathered
  • Advocates for the removal of all types of barriers to participation (architectural, environmental, attitudinal, financial, employment, communication, transportation, etc.) for persons with activity limitations
  • Performs case management as needed
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, supervises and discharges Rehabilitation Educators  
  • Assists employees in setting goals and objectives and monitor their progress
  • Follows company performance management and progressive corrective action policies and procedures
  • Assists with development and implements on-going employee training programs
  • Proactively engages in public relations with individuals, families, employees, and community members, demonstrating professionalism at all times
  • Addresses major complaints and resolves issues as they occur
  • Reviews, monitors, and controls program financial performance
  • Reviews petty cash and pcard expenditures
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Attend monitoring, licensing, and site visits from contracting/licensing/ accrediting agencies
  • Ensures the program is in substantial compliance with all applicable licensure, accreditation and certification standards
  • Maintains the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Shares information only when recipient's right to access is clearly established and sharing of such information is in the best interest of the participant
  • Adheres to and participates in Company’s mandatory HIPAA privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices
  • Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role
  • Maintains good public relations with contracting/licensing/accrediting agencies
  • Assists in development and oversees the implementation of policies and procedures to achieve program goals and company mission, and to ensure compliance with contractual guidelines and regulations
  • Monitors housekeeping and grounds-keeping efforts
  • Ensures that policies are followed within program
  • Reviews reports from safety committee and ensures safety concerns are addressed
  • Conducts investigations of major/unusual incidents at other programs, as needed

Specific Requirements

  • Human services-related bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred. Work experience at RCP may supersede this requirement.
  • Two years related experience, one year at a supervisory level.
  • Certified Brain Injury Specialist certification required.  Related experience, training, and/or higher education may temporarily substitute for certification.
  • Working knowledge of rehabilitation
  • Valid state driver’s licenses and an acceptable driving record.
  • Acceptable criminal history background check
  • Clean drug and alcohol screen
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, supervisors, participants, customers, or the general public.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a multi-dimensional team, in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to independently move around the program or sit for prolonged periods, or from 6 to 7 hours per day.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to grasp/manipulate equipment, materials and participants in a bilaterally coordinated manner in performing essential duties.
  • Must be able to react quickly to unpredictable situations with participants, which may require rapid or heavy physical exertion.
