Program Supervisor Responsibilities

The Program Supervisor is responsible for the day-to day oversight and management of his/her assigned programs and locations, which may include Parent Aide, In-home Family Support, and/or the Foster and Adoption Serviced programs.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The Program Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that his/her assigned program services are implemented with optimal quality and efficiency within ResCare's policies and procedures
  • Providing programmatic and administrative leadership and supervision to assigned direct care staff, to include direct observation of service provision on a regular basis
  • Acting as a liaison with state and regulatory entities involved with assigned program and location
  • Ensuring that all data needed for agency, state and contract-required reports is submitted to the administrative office in a timely, accurate and complete manner
  • Performing weekly billing and case tracking tasks as required by agency policy and practice
  • Coordinating the recruitment and retention of assigned program staff and assisting the human resources department in implementing personnel policies and practices at the operational level
  • Participating in marketing initiatives and activities for the assigned programs as assigned
  • Participating in the 24 hour on-call rotation as assigned
  • Coordination of foster care placements in and outside of regular business hours (foster care programs only)
  • Assisting assigned program staff in responding to urgent and/or crisis situations
  • Position provides coverage for direct care services as necessary to maintain the integrity of assigned program(s), including coverage of a caseload of specific clients as assigned by the agency

Specific Requirements

Parent Aide Programs Only: Associate's degree and 1 year experience in a human Services Field, or HS diploma plus 2 years experience in a Human Services field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous supervisory experience in a Human Services Field preferred

All Other Programs: Bachelor's degree required; bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related Human Service Field preferred. Three years of casework experience in a licensed or certified family/child welfare agency required. Previous supervisory experience preferred

For ALL Programs, in addition to the above:

  • Must have the ability to interact with culturally and ethnically diverse people in a supportive, professional manner
  • Capable of maintaining composure under duress
  • Must have strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Must be able to effectively supervise and motivate others
  • Must be able to effectively work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must meet all agency requirements for pre-employment as required by ResCare and/or state and contract regulations
  • Evening and weekend work hours are required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess excellent speaking and writing skill (in English)
  • Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized, and able to be flexible with job duties and assigned tasks
  • Must be able to appropriately handle sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality
  • Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by ResCare's vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier
  • Must have reliable, clean transportation which has working air conditioning, heat, and valid insurance
  • Must have valid Class 1 fingerprint clearance card
  • Must obtain Fire Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum age 21

Travel Requirements: Must be willing and able to travel on a regular basis, using his/her personal vehicle
