Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner - St. Paul Responsibilities

To provide services to those individuals (16 years of age or older) with severe/pervasive mental illness that cause impairments in daily functioning to help them achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the least restrictive environment possible. To provide services to those individuals (under the age of 21 years) who require behavioral treatment interventions because of developmental delays and/or health conditions which are related to long term impairments in adaptive functioning.

  • Provides direct service delivery in a professional capacity to clients.
  • Implements various treatment modalities.
  • Attends meetings concerning the client as needed.
  • Records data as instructed and submits regularly.
  • Makes corrections on documentation as requested.
  • Provides pertinent information both written and verbal to the supervisor concerning the clients.
  • Provides training, supervision, psycho education, therapeutic skill training, and supportive counseling services as required by the clients/guardians or referral services.
  • Attend supervision as required.
  • Make collateral contacts as needed for their cases.
  • Assess client's needs and mental status on an ongoing basis.
  • Discharge planning.
  • Attend court appointments as subpoenaed.
  • Provide transportation as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Specific Requirements

  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with the following: a) an individual with a Bachelor's Degree in human services, a related field, or other degree deemed equivalent to those described, from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience; OR b) a Registered Psychiatric Rehabilitation Provider (RPRP) registered with the International Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Service s (IAPSRS) as of January 1, 2001; OR c) an individual with at least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in an unrelated field with an Associate's Degree in a human services field and who has at least three years' clinical experience; OR d) an individual with at least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college and certification from the International Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (IA PSRS) as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP); OR e) an individual with at least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in an unrelated field that includes at least 15 semester credits (or equivalent) in a human services field and who has at least three years' clinical experience.
  • CPR Certification.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • NCI Certification.
  • Good driving record, valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must pass Criminal History and background check as identified by state.
