Regional Health Services Director Responsibilities

Consult and quality of health collaborate with operations to achieve the highest care services for consumers. Supervises delivery of nursing services recommending system development and implementation at the operation to enhance quality of health service delivery. Advise personnel on health maintenance and disease prevention. Oversight of the administration of nursing services as it relates to health and safety, survey management, incident management, EMR/EHR application, training and education

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality results through operational excellence, meeting requirements per individual served
    • Review incident reports; provide assessment and follow up, focused on mortality reviews and health related concerns
    • Consults nursing personnel on medication administration, signs and symptoms of illness, etc
    • Resource for Nursing leaders to teach, mentor, and train, and precept and for QuickMar and additional EMR/EHR  
    • Coordinates the completion of mortality reviews in conjunction with operations 
    • Facilitate communication and serve as a liaison between operations and nursing staff and community medical providers, professional consultants to collaborate on care solutions
    • Offers consultation related to Interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings
    • Consults/participates/trains in the development of individuals plans of care
    • Consults and oversees nursing services documentation being supporting billable units 
    • Participants in Mortality Review Committee
    • Conducts calls with nursing personnel: Wound Review/High Risk Client/Infection Prevention Status
    • Works with nursing personnel on survey preparation/chart reviews/staffing concerns/ED utilization and hospital admission reduction
    • Provides survey management support/follow-up/and coordination of corrective actions plans
    • Monitors reports received from nursing to ensure timely medical follow up
    • Provides consultation on medically fragile individuals/care needs and disease state management/care bundles for infection prevention/best practice expectations
    • Provide feedback to Operations management about necessary changes as it relates to nursing services
    • Plans site visits for nursing communication/Corporate program development/Survey Management/Accreditation
    • Evaluates the adoption of QuickMar/EHR/EMR in assigned operations, and works to improve processes and implementation
    • Participate in client IPP/reviews
    • Interviews nursing leaders in accordance with ResCare policy and employment law
    • Monitor trends for citations at surveyors
    • Attends conferences 
  • Build/retain strong, dedicated team
    • Collaborate with operations to ensure timely hiring/retention of nursing leadership
  • Drive and deliver profitable growth
    • Assists operations in fostering positive community relations with external customers 
    • Surveille for trends in safety training for staff/risk/workers comp 
    • Provide RN leader training; new initiatives/review services for gaps and educate
    • Collaborate with operations on acquisitions and clinical needs for individuals served
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Requirements

  • Must have related 5 years nursing management experience. 2 years IDD related experience. Survey management experience either in the SNF/ICF system. Prefer recent experience in Home Care, Home Health and/or Hospice
  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license, current and good standing; valid driver’s license from state of residence
  • 30-50% travel based on needs of assigned operations
