As a(n) RN Supervisor - HomeCare - Gainesville you will: 

Supervision of Staff

  • Directly and indirectly, or through qualified subordinates, supervising professional, direct ancillary services and all personnel who provide direct in-home client care (RN, LPN, CAN, HHA, CHHA, PCA, and PT, OT, PTA, OTA, MSW)
  • Ensuring that employees perform job duties appropriate to job descriptions
  • Performing competency and skills evaluations on employees who provide direct client care
  • Hiring, orienting, assisting with recruitment and evaluating new employees, and assigning duties to all (RN, LPN, and HHA) providing direct client care
  • Identifying, planning, and implementing staff development for direct care employees such as orientations, in-services, continuing education, and competency/skills evaluations
  • Determining and documenting whether the home health aide services are being delivered in an acceptable manner consistent with policies / procedures and customer satisfaction.
  • Documenting actions taken when services are unacceptable.
  • Teaching or supervising the teaching of household members who are responsible for assisting the client with his/her nursing or personal care needs


  • Assuring the initial Home Conference and subsequent visits for assessments, planning, delivery, and evaluation of client care, is performed by a registered nurse.
  • Documenting an initial assessment of the client’s needs to carry out the Plan of Treatment / Care Plan
  • Maintaining client confidentiality
  • Documenting verbal physician orders in the Client Record
  • Developing, initiating, implementing and evaluating client plans of care
  • Informing the physician and all assigned employees of changes in the client’s medical or mental condition and needs
  • Evaluation of services provided by contractors
  • Preparing, coordinating, and submitting clinical and progress note documentation on delivered services within required time frames
  • Providing case management and coordinating services with insurance companies and community agencies
  • Providing information on community resources to clients and families
  • Performing or supervising skilled nursing services on clients as ordered by physician
  • Functioning within the scope of practice as defined by the state-specific Nurse Practice Act
  • Initiating preventive and rehabilitation nursing procedures
  • Developing and revising Plan of Treatment orders for skilled nursing and insurance-reimbursed care, based on changes in client

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate and complete client and Company records, including caregiver in-service requirements, training, complaints, and incidents
  • Serving in an alternate administrative capacity, as directed by management
  • Providing and/or ensuring 24-hour availability for clinically related client care issues.
  • Carrying a pager or cell phone, per agreement with Administrator for on-call responsibilities, when indicated
  • Designating, in writing, a qualified RN to serve as alternate Nursing Supervisor in supervisor’s absence
  • Maintaining and adhering to RCHC procedural and client care manuals, in compliance with state health statutes and licensure rules
  • Participating in the establishment of service policies and procedures
  • Maintaining compliance with Federal, State, local and Company standards as they pertain to delivery of health care
  • Performing other responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Supporting sales/marketing efforts as determined by Administrator
  • Assisting with planning and budgeting

Position Requirements

  • Valid RN license in state(s) where such services are provided
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Six months of satisfactory administrative/supervisory experience, in any health care setting
  • Six months of home health care experience, preferred
  • Broad base of nursing experience, with an emphasis on public contact
  • Adult CPR certification required
