Safety Administrator Responsibilities
  • Enforces all procedures regarding property/equipment
  • Ensures civil rights of trainees and staff are not violatedand proceedings are in compliance with DOL, ResCare and legalguidelines.
  • Maintains effective public contact and communication.
  • Oversees annual Center fire inspection with local FireMarshall, and annual inspection of fire safety equipment.
  • Conducts and participates in weekly and quarterlyenvironmental safety inspections
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and health andsafety practices.
  • Ensures compliance with all DOL guidelines, OFCCPregulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, ResCare and Centerpolicies and procedures.
  • Provides support to ODJCC Staff, Instructors, and Students.
  • Serves as a positive role model for trainees by reinforcingsafety practices.
  • Maintain timely accurate log reports
  • Transports students as assigned
  • Assist with the monitoring of the visitor center as needed.
  • Investigates safety incidents on Center and provides clearand accurate reports.
  • Safety inspection of work base sites
  • Flexible, adjusts workload to accommodate changes inpriorities/work done.
  • Conducts in-service training for Center staff as required.
  • Conducts training for subordinates in all aspects of Centersafety and security.
  • Oversee the Safety Cadre Program
  • Facilitate the monthly Safety Committee meetings
  • Oversee the fire safety program
  • Reports significant/major incidents or accidents.
  • Cooperates in external/internal investigations as requested.
  • Completes PRH, ResCare, Inc. and Center training asrequired and demonstrates competencies accordingly.
  • Monitor and inspect Center equipment and material.
  • Other duties assigned

Specific Requirements

Two years related experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field. Combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree on a year-for-year basis.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR/First Aid & Valid VA Drivers License
