As a(n) Substitute Instructor you will: 

  • Adequately prepares for classroom instruction.
  • Keeps students motivated and interested in the program and ensures students set realistic attainable goals.
  • Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom.
  • Accounts for students when they are under your responsibility.
  • Maintains accurate student records and files.
  • Adheres to all DOL, ResCare, Center and department guidelines.
  • Adheres to the guidelines determined by outside agencies.
  • Develops corrective action plans for students with deficiencies.
  • Monitors statistical date related to GED test and scores.
  • Develops instructional plans using TABE diagnostic for those students who do not meet the requirement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of or eligibility for temporary teaching certification in the State in which the center is located.
