Talent Development Specialist Responsibilities

Assists program participants in developing vocational goals reflective of their skills, capabilities and interests. Manages participant progress towards achieving goals by creating and updating plans.

  • Meets with participants to identify barriers to employment and develop strategies to manage these issues.
  • Maintains complete, accurate and timely case notes and related records in manual and or electronic systems.
  • Outreach to referrals who fail to show for appointment.
  • Create update and ensure completion of plans according to contract deadlines.
  • Attends scheduled supervision meetings to discuss participants progress.
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge about community resources.
  • Able to work with and relate to participants and be culturally sensitive.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be computer literate and have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
  • Bilingual a plus

Additional Information

• Provide case management with a focus on helping customers to prepare for employment that leads to self-sufficiency• Conduct a complete assessment utilizing a variety of techniques including computer based assessments, interest inventories, and one-on-one interviews• Facilitate customer access to training, education, barrier-removal services, and to employment services, as well as job-specific information; provide case management to customers at the appropriate level• Interview customers to gather information on training needs, educational background, work experience, skills, interests, and eligibility• Verify eligibility for program service• Provide career guidance and assistance to customers to identify employment goals and career development needs, and develop achievable and realistic service and employment plans; monitor customers' progress during participation in appropriate activities• Provide follow-up after job placement to ensure job retention and the elimination of barrier that may impede job retention and ensure case record documentation is current, accurate, thorough and compliant with the law, regulations, and established policies and procedures• Maintain job seeker case files in an audit-ready state• Maintain accurate and updated information in the job seeker database(s)
