Talent Engagement Specialist (Healthcare Sector) Responsibilities
Reports to: Supervisor
  • Assists with front desk coverage, greeting customers, and directing customers to appropriate areas and services. 
  • Maintains receptionist coverage with a courteous phone manner. 
  • Maintains full and accurate understanding and ability to provide assistance in the intake registration and data entry of customers, as well as the eligibility determination processes. 
  • Works closely with staff to develop policies and procedures as needed to document job instruction and performance. 
  • Maintains accurate data entry to external customer’s database and internal database; prepares reports from database as required. 
  • Schedules customers into appointments and workshops using required tools.
  • Provides customers information regarding job fairs, workshops, and other events of interest. Provides administrative support to upper level management. 
  • Ensures the Resource Room is well stocked and maintains a professional appearance. 
  • Serves as an assessment facilitator and provides instructions to job seekers prior to taking assessments. 
  • Reviews eligibility documents with job seekers. 
  • Conducts group orientation sessions with job seekers

Specific Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma and at least two years of clerical experience, or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
  • At least three years of customer service experience with strong communications skills, as well as experience working in a high volume work environment.
  • Strong organization skills and computer skills.
  • The ability to relate well with individuals, ability to motivate.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
  • Ability to follow instructions well.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and a fast learner.
  • Creative and able to meet deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure and within a team concept.

Additional Information

ResCare is seeking an energetic, friendly and outgoing individual, preferably with experience in staffing or the healthcare environment to greet, orient, guide and assist health career seekers, health sector employers, health career education providers and other community partners, healthcare industry human resource professionals, clinical staff, educational institutions and community organizations. Services will be provided through the Kentucky Health Career Center (KHCC) located in downtown Louisville. Mobile services will also be provided at offsite locations, currently scheduled for Fridays only. The KHCC is the result of the work of the Health Careers Collaborative of Greater Louisville, a regional health profession collaboration involving local healthcare organizations and providers, education institutions and community-based organizations. The purpose of this new initiative is to identify potential healthcare workers and develop and support career pathways to meet the demanding workforce needs of healthcare institutions. The centers offerings include: health career information and personalized career pathway planning; assessment, readiness and remediation services; customized training leading to employability, job retention, credentialing and/or career advancement; holistic services to address the life issues of adult learners; and other services to meet the needs of the collaborative partners and healthcare industry as a whole. This is a unique opportunity to impact the healthcare sector and is expected to serve as a model in the workforce industry for potential replication regionally and nationally. The Talent Engagement Specialist is often the first point of contact and must make a positive and lasting first impression and deliver a world class customer experience. Bi-lingual preferred.
