Team Lead ResponsibilitiesThe Team Lead serves as the lead member of the In-Home Family Support service team, providing general clinical and programmatic direction to the assigned Family Support Specialists. The Team lead provides in-home family counseling targeted at preventing family dissolution and increasing family functioning; and assists parents in developing appropriate parenting skills in order for their children to safely remain in the home. The Team Lead manages service delivery by addressing the needs identified in the service plan, reporting safety issues within the home, assisting the Family Support Specialist in problem solving issues and concerns, and effectively assisting and managing crises. In coordination with the DCS Case Manager and family, the Team Lead facilitates the identification, development, and achievement of service plans goals and strategies, conducts comprehensive assessments of the family, and monitors client progress.
  • Provides 1:1, couples, and family counseling as needed to enhance family functioning.
  • In coordination with the DCS Case Manager and family, identifies, develops, and writes assigned clients’ service plans and conducts comprehensive assessments of the family
  • Monitors assigned clients’ progress on service plan goals and adjusts service strategies as needed to facilitate goal achievement
  • Works with Family Support Specialist to provide parenting skills education, including home management, discipline techniques, communication skills, and other skill areas, in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Supervises interactions between, and provides behavior coaching for, children and their parents, family members, and/or others as indicated.
  • Provides or arranges for transportation for children and family members as outlined in the service plan. Transportation may be outside of assigned work location, including out of county.
  • Performs community-based, face-to-face and telephonic crisis intervention to families as indicated and necessary, and participates in the after-hours on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Informs supervisor, team members, and all appropriate community contacts of reportable significant incidents pursuant to federal, state, and local standards for reporting abuse and neglect.
  • Completes all required client and agency documentation according to program requirements regarding style, content, and deadlines for submission.
  • Completes documentation of all contact between parties pertinent to assigned cases, including phone calls, emails, face to face visits, and other forms of communication as applicable.
  • Responds to all subpoenas and requests for information by DCS and the Attorney General’s Office in a timely manner, pursuant to agency policy. This may include attending and testifying at court hearings as required.
  • Assists in distribution, collection, and reporting of satisfaction surveys pursuant to contract requirements.
  • Reports incidents of abuse and neglect according to federal, state, and local standards.
  • Participates in the Quality Improvement activities of the agency as requested.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and actively promotes ResCare’s and AmeriPsych’s mission, vision, and goals.
  • Models components of ResCare Quality Way (Creating Direction, Customer Focus, Employee Focus, Face to Face Communication and Managing for Outcomes).
  • Projects a positive attitude and/or enthusiasm for the job, program and the agency to others, and supports others in developing a positive outlook for the agency.

Specific Requirements

A Master’s degree in a clinical or social work field (social work, psychology, counseling, MFT, etc…) preferred; Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of work related experience permitted (per contract). Bilingual preferred. In addition:

  • Must have the ability to interact with culturally and ethnically diverse people in a supportive, professional manner.
  • Capable of maintaining composure under duress.
  • Ability to provide professional, appropriate guidance and direction to others in the workplace
  • Must be able to effectively work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must meet all agency requirements for pre-employment as required by ResCare and/or state and contract regulations.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and agency-specific database programs
  • Must possess excellent speaking and writing skills (in English), and have strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized, and able to be flexible with job duties and assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to appropriately handle sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have valid driver’s license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by ResCare’s vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier, and/or program contract.
  • Must have reliable, clean transportation which has working air conditioning, heat, and valid insurance.
  • Must have valid fingerprint Class 1 clearance card
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire and maintain certification on an ongoing basis
  • Must be at least age 21.
