Treasury and Risk Analyst Responsibilities

The Treasury and Risk Analyst is a key finance player within our organization.  Forecasting cash receipts and disbursements to accurate predict cash balances on a daily, weekly and monthly basis is key performance indicator which is communicated daily to our senior leadership.  The candidate is responsible for carious daily, monthly and quarterly reports which are utilized to identify trends for both Treasury and Risk Management.  Qualified individuals must be able to work closely with the VP of Treasury and Risk Management to ensure timely and accurate reporting  for both senior management and operational personnel.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Cash Projection database which includes tracking actual vs. budgeted amounts.  Work closely with the VP and Treasurer to ascertain A/R cash receipts estimates and cash disbursement monthly targets.  Reconcile activity to the daily cash position and general ledger and proactively identify trends to report to management.
  • Prepare the direct cash flow budget for the year and then track the monthly results to share with upper management.
  • Work closely with other functional departments such as: Cash Disbursements, Accounts Receivable, Risk Management, Legal and to obtain quarterly forecasts.
  • Work closely with the VP and Treasurer to perform models surrounding our debt covenants.  Develop tracking spreadsheets for both financial and non-Financial covenants within the credit agreement to ensure on-going compliance.
  • Serve as a back-up for wire and ACH disbursements for the Sr. Manager of Treasury Operations.
  • Responsible for the calculation of the monthly Risk Management Key Performance Indicators.  Download data from TPA system and compile various metrics to distribute to operators, Quality and Risk Management.  Metrics are tracked for each line of coverage and are completed down to the Operational level.  Proactively identify trends and provide monthly summary to the VP of Risk Management.
  • Assist with the Risk Management Help Desk to research open tickets and bring them to closure.
  • Assist with open Property Claims to compile data needed by Adjusters to submit and close outstanding claims.
  • Other ad hoc reporting responsibilities as assigned by VP of Risk Management.

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Previous Treasury and Risk Management experience strongly recommended.
  • Must demonstrate effective project management skills and look for ways to further automate our current processes.  
  • Must have superior proficiency in all Microsoft applications including the ability to utilize pivot tables and manage large data extractions from core systems.  Previous experience with Microsoft Access is a plus for this position.  Oracle system usage also a benefit, but not required.
  • Must proactively be able to identify, communicate and relay to management positive and negative trends.
  • Must possess the ability to accumulate and report of data for various frequencies.  Also must be able to present in a group setting key findings and trends with risk, cash and debt.  Must show willingness to work with other finance areas and have ownership over monthly reporting.
