As a(n) Youth Coordinator you will: 

  • Acts as the functional leader for the Youth team guiding the team to effectively provide employability skills services.  
  • Provides ongoing training to team members as necessary to ensure quality services; arranges for  Intake and Assessment Specialists to assist during high traffic times.
  • Communicates to team members any changes in federal and state regulations, policy, or procedures that affect their role in the service delivery model. Coordinate with the Project Management team for training needs.
  • Oversees and evaluates Youth program staff to ensure quality customer service, efficient and effective operations, and the best use of resources to facilitate expected outcomes.
  • Works closely with staff on ensuring the negotiation of work site agreements, internships, and fourteen element activities.
  • Maintains accurate youth spending and cost associated with services.
  • Ensures that all workforce center functions are delivered in a timely manner according to the guidelines and principles set forth by the Board and serving as liaison to support services providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Organizes and conducts regular case record reviews to ensure quality service delivery and completing periodic reports for all programs to facilitate program reporting and evaluation and performing other duties as assigned including assignment to work in another workforce center as needed.
  • Convene and collaborate with youth partners.
  • Manage Career Center partners and other partner contracts.
  • Outreach to develop broader engagement with schools and community based organizations.
  • Develop youth partner relationships to provide wholistic services.
  • Develop and manage reporting across partners.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of the rules and program operations of the WIOA Youth Program preferred.
  • Minimum three years of professional experience in supervision, case management, and/or counseling and proficient writing skills for correspondence and program reporting with good interpersonal skills and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated planning, training and supervisory abilities.
  • Demonstrated computer  and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with management, coworker, Board Staff and general public
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work occasionally long or extended hours, including weekends.
  • Must support the mission of ResCare Workforce Services.
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all information housed in the division.

Position Requirements

  • Related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent 3 years work experience.
  • Must pass State criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass DMV check and be insurable through the Company’s automotive liability carrier.  Must provide own transportation and maintain proper vehicle registration, vehicle inspection and insurance.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to tolerate frequent periods of high stress, heavy workload and multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to hear, see and communicate effectively with participants.
